JADON SANCHO NETS HATRICK AS DORTMUND THRASH PADERBORN

Borussia Dortmund's youngster, Jadon Sancho netted a hatrick in a 6-1 whitewashing of SC Paderborn on Sunday evening.



Having watched Bayern Munich put five goals past Fortuna Dusseldorf a day before, the onus was on Die Schwarzgelben to deliver and they did so in spectacular fashion in Benteler-Arena.


It was an even first half as the visitors failed to breakdown a disciplined defence from the home side with Julian Brandt 44th minute skewed shot one of the few chances to note.

The second half however started with more purpose and attacking instinct by the visitors as Hakimi's shot was saved by the foot of Zingerle just four minutes after the restart.

The breakthrough arrived for the visitors in 54th minute when Thorgan Hazard fired in an open net from point blank range after Hakimi's cross was parried away by Zingerle and just three minutes later, they doubled they lead. Julian Brandt squaring an easy pass for Jadon Sancho to tap in his first of the evening.

The home side thought their had a goal back when Srbeny found the net in the 62th minute but it was correctly ruled out for offside although their finally got a goal of their own when Huenemeier stepped up to convert a contentious penalty in the 72th minute.

Paderborn's celebration was cut short though as Dortmund regain their two goals lead just two minutes later when Sancho controlled a pass from Hazard just inside the area, took a touch before drilling the ball into the bottom right corner.



Things turn worst for Paderborn when Hakimi scored the fourth just six minutes left before M. Schmelzer added another four minutes later. 
 
There was still time for Sancho to bag his hatrick as he added more gloss to the scoreline in the 90th minute capping off a counter attack with a sublime finish.

Dortmund is back to within seven points of league leaders Bayern Munich with five games remaining. Paderborn meanwhile still remain rooted at the bottom of the league with 19 points from 29 games.
