JUVENTUS CLINCH NINTH SUCCESSFUL SERIE A TITLE

Image
Is it safe to add that one of the constant things in life is Juventus winning the serie A title?😄  On Sunday, the Bianconeri claimed their ninth successful league title with a 2-0 defeat of Sampdoria at the Allianz Stadium. Cristiano Ronaldo opened the scoring for the Bianconeri, finishing off a set-piece routine from the edge of the area. Federico Bernardeschi added a second goal halfway through the second half before Sampdoria were reduced to 10 men following Morten Thorsby's sending off. Ronaldo could've rounded off the scoring with a late penalty, but his effort crashed back off the crossbar. Victory means that Mauro Sarri's men can no longer be caught by their closest challengers, Inter, in their two remaining fixtures this season.

REAL MADRID CLINCH 34TH LA LIGA TITLE

Image
Real Madrid clinched a record 34th la liga title with a 2-1 win over Villarreal on Thursday night. Los Blancos entered the penultimate fixture of the season knowing that a victory will secure them the title. Barcelona, their arch rivals needed to win their last two matches to have a chance to retain their crown. With all except one fixture taking place at the same time, the news of Barcelona losing at home against Osasuna just within sixteen minutes couldn't have sounded better for Zinedine Zidane's men. Probably buoyed by the news, the home side took the lead four minutes later when Karim Benzema fired a low drive into the bottom right corner after a simple pass from Luka Modric.  Benzema thought he had doubled the lead in the 77th minutes when Sergio Ramos passed a penalty to him but the goal was cancelled for early encroachment into the box by the Frenchman. He stepped up to convert at the second attempt. Villarreal pulled one back in the 84th minutes through Vincent Iborra

WHAT ARE BITCOIN SCAMS AND HOW DID TWITTER BECOME A HAVEN FOR THEM

Image
On 15th of July, Twitter suffered what cyber crime experts have labelled "The biggest security breach in its history." but it is just the latest in a years-long campaign by criminals to scam people on the platform through the ruse of bitcoin giveaways. Among those targeted in Wednesday's attack was billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk, who has consistently raised concerns about the "dire problem" of cryptocurrency scams. Typically, the scams involve fake accounts posing as high-profile Twitter users like Musk in order to hold giveaways. They request Twitter users send cryptocurrency to a digital address in order to receive a greater amount in return. Once the money is sent, it is nearly impossible for the victims to recover their funds due to the semi-anonymous nature of bitcoin making it difficult to trace the perpetrators. Analysis by The Independent in 2018 uncovered hundreds of transactions sent to cryptocurrency scammers operating on Twitter, resulting in tho

The elder Trump took notice of his niece's body when she turned up to lunch at his Mar-a-Lago resort in a bathing suit, Mary writes in "Too Much and Never Enough: How My Family Created the World's Most Dangerous Man." "Holy shit, Mary. You're stacked," Donald said, according to the book, an advanced copy of which was obtained by Business Insider. Marla Maples, Donald's then-wife, reprimanded him in "mock horror" with a slap on the wrist, Mary claims in the book. "I was twenty-nine and not easily embarrassed, but my face reddened, and I suddenly felt self-conscious," Mary, now a clinical psychologist, writes. "I pulled my towel around my shoulders. It occurred to me that nobody in my family, outside of my parents and brother, ha

BUHARI SHOPS FOR MAGU'S REPLACEMENT

Image
The presidency is shopping for a possible replacement of Ibrahim Magu, the suspended chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC),  Daily Trust learnt yesterday. The names of four people including a retired Deputy Inspector-General of Police (DIG), a retired Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) and two serving police commissioners have been pencilled, Daily Trust was told. This is coming as the Presidential Panel led by Justice Ayo Salami, a former President of the Court of Appeal, continued with its interrogation of the embattled Magu at the Presidential Villa, Abuja. Credible sources said ahead of the invitation of Magu on Monday, the Salami panel had recommended for his suspension “to pave the way for a free investigation in line with standard procedures.” A top presidency source told Daily Trust last night that Magu was asked to step aside to allow for proper investigation of the allegations levelled against him. Speaking on condition of anonymity, the so

CRISTIANO RONALDO SCORES STUNNER AS JUVENTUS CONTINUE SERIE A TITLE MARCH

Cristiano Ronaldo netted a stunner in Juventus 3-1 win over Genoa as the old ladies take a step closer to a record nine consecutive Scudetto. The 35 year old's strike was the second of a set of three beautiful goals scored by the defending champions on Tuesday night. COURTOIS HAS KEPT THE MOST CLEAN SHEET IN LA LIGA SO FAR Dybala put his side in the lead in the 50th minute with a beautiful finish following a snaking dribble, a strike that set the tone for the rest of the match. Ronaldo, who had looked off the pace following the league's restart from the coronavirus shutdown, showed that he was back to his best seven minutes later when he charged towards goal before letting off a rocket of a shot that Perin could only grasp at as it fired into the net. ASPAS LATE GOAL HOLDS BARCELONA That settled the result, but substitute Costa then made his own case for goal of the match when he collected the ball towards the right side of the area and unleashed a curling, dipping shot that ag
