REAL MADRID 3-1 EIBAR: LOS BLANCOS OFF TO A WINNING START

Real Madrid returned to action after three months break with a 3-1 win over Eibar on Sunday in their temporary new home.

With the Santiago Bernabeu currently undergoing an upgrade, Los Blancos has adopted the Alfredo Di Stefano stadium as their new home atleast till the end of the current season.

With arch rivals Barcelona, winning convincingly against Mallorca, a day before, the pressure was on Real to deliver and they rised up to the occasion.

Zinedine Zidane's men found the back of the net just four minutes into the encounter with Toni Kroos arrowing into the top right corner from just inside the box, after good work from Benzema.

The home side continue to probe for a second goal and were rewarded in the 30th with captain Sergio Ramos tapping home from a move he started himself. The defender intercepted play in the middle, fed Benzema, who in turn found Hazard, with the Belgian unselfishly squaring for Ramos.

Marcelo made it 3-0 seven minutes later, firing from the edge of the box after Hazard's effort was parried away by Dmitrovic with an attempted clearance finding its way to the Brazilian.

Eibar pulled one back though in the 60th minute. Courtois letting Bigas deflected shot pass through his legs and into the net.

The former Chelsea shotstopper atoned for his earlier blunder by denying former Real Madrid player, Pedro Leon to keep the score intact.

Madrid returned to within two points of league leaders Barcelona following the victory and will host Valencia on Thursday.
