THREE US POLICE OFFICERS CHARGED OVER THE MURDER OF GEORGE FLOYD
Three more police officers were on Wednesday, charged as a result of their connection in the murder of George Floyd.
Thomas Lane, Tou Thao and J Alexander Keung Tuesday were all charged while Derek Chauvin who was charged last week with Floyd’s murder has seen his charge upgraded from third-degree murder to second-degree murder, according to Minnesota Senator Amy Klobuchar.
Although details of charges they are set to face have not yet been announced, it is unclear whether those three officers will be charged with the same offence as Chauvin.
Klobuchar wrote: “Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison is increasing charges against Derek Chauvin to 2nd degree in George Floyd’s murder and also charging other 3 officers. This is another important step for justice."
